The Dark Angel
Umm, hi.
I know I'm not your idea of a typical 14-year-old girl. My birthday's on 9th February, and I happen to like that date a lot. I share my birthday & birthday month with very awesome people.
I have a thing for heavy music, I love J-Rock and heavy metal. I adore the Visual Kei scene.
I'm an otaku. I spend my days rotting at the computer gawking at anime, manga, music and whatnot.
I'm weird. I tend to like dark and depressing things. It doesn't make me emo or suicidal. People do have their dark moments.
If you're easily offended by gay things, this might not be the right place for you. I love yaoi and you can't change that.
Interesting guitar riffs and shredding are my weakness. You might think guitar's my specialty, but it isn't. I do play acoustic and electric guitar, but piano's what I major in. I play the Guzheng a little too.
And that's about all I have to say about me.

I only realized after hurting you, that I was counting the number of flaws you had when we should have looked at each other.

.MOOD.
mind twist

This girl is forever random. She might sometimes suffer from moodswings, but most of the time she's feeling... happy? I don't know.
She likes to be called goth and not emo.
She is all for gay.
She has somehow developed a glasses fetish from staring at the picture up there.
When she's feeling sad, she'll go ranting about things and sound like a philosopher.
She is a narcissist.
Red, black and purple are the colours to describe her mood.

-Hurricane: A Dream- 5:54 PM

I think my most memorable music video of the year... Would definitely be Hurricane.
I can't count how many hours I've spent uncovering the many different layers of meaning, what the authorial intent is. Theme might be unclear to people at first... but when you watch it carefully and have an eye for detail it eats at you.
First glance - it's porn.
But no, it isn't.
The media just has to censor everything they find offensive and deem it unsuitable for children.
Well, I'm not going to argue about it, it definitely is unsuitable for children, because children are just too ignorant. They will never understand the video nor empathize with it because, just as Mr Sng says, you think you've experienced it?
Even I can't fully understand it nor empathize with the many different characters portrayed in this short film (it is actually called a film!).
Back to the point.
When you watch the video all you see flashing at you every other timing would be the word "censored".
Red.
Red - danger.
It strips the video of the previously clear intent and meaning. I realized that many symbols were missing as well.

I love film studies, I think it is a very suitable skill for the 21st century.
Just look at all this. Cassette recordings and huge CD players are just out of fashion now, all we see is more and more MTVs to enjoy our music.
Many people move to using visual tools to publicize their band or whatever, and once you use it efficiently, BAM! You get all the attention you want.
Too bad this marks the end of film studies in Cedar. It isn't the end for my individual learning though.

What happened to the passion for learning? Life-long learning?
Yeah, Cedar actually teaches you values applicable to real life except in a cheesy manner, but they actually are useful depending on how well you are able to apply them.
Or if you're even willing to listen to the poor girls during morning reflections.
Although I have to say, they need to appoint better speakers or those who are really serious in their reflections. If not, what's the point? People's minds will just turn off to savour a few more moments of rest before getting their brains fried by algebra and whatnot.
Reflection are treated seriously by me. People say I go overboard but I disagree. It's barely enough to go on as a "wise" individual they are trying to nurture us into. The school oughta give us reflections more appropriately. I will surely remember the desperate ways my school tries to gather the feedback of the students and increase our emotional quotient.

It works, but only on primary school students.

-Absolutely stunning.- 10:26 PM

Stunned, what else can I say?
The suspense, and the tension built up.
It caught me off-hand hahaha.
This reminds me that Visual Kei is not everything.
J-Rock bands who don't dress fancily may just outperform those who do.

The video editing is superb. The song does not disappoint.
It is a cover, but those who think covers are lacking compared to the original, think again.
This surely is not inferior to The Prodigy's version, it's not even equal, it is even better than it in my opinion.
In the original version, the synth sounds were pretty much flat, and quite clashing.
I think the mixing might not be as good as Crossfaith's.
Even the pronunciations of the words were more pleasant to my ears.
Screamo just does it better than nasal, suck it up.
American pop-loving fans can complain all they want, but they just need to know nasal harms their vocal production more than the proper way of screaming.

Chill out, and rock on. \m/

-I ish aweshum.- 10:15 PM

LOL now I really feel like a rebel.

Haha I did some awesome things today. E.g. stealing Clarissa's "royal chair" right under her nose.
Telling her off for taking it back and why is it that only she is so privileged to have the whole damn chair for her fucking bag.

Calling Jyoti naughty in Lumpy's accent was funnier though.
"Notti Jyoti, notti!!"
And she keeps denying she's perverted. Called me perverted instead. Not denying anything here XD

And the most epic thing of today.
Ms CT go say she's flying off to China tomorrow night so any overdue homework will be given a 0.
Finish up the stupid Chinese compo and place it in her mail tray by today.
What the hell, as if I have the time to do so.
Mine was half done anyway.
And you know what I did?
I was awesome enough to just dump the fucking yingyongwen book in her mail tray. INCOMPLETE.
Oh I just love my guts.
Have to thank Eng for giving the announcement to create urgency.
You know, urgency stressing? In the advertising techniques?
Yeah haha I'm talking shit now.

Oh well, making good progress on No, Thank You!
Support me in Cedar's Got Talent okay :)
We are gonna rock the school.
Literally.
*grabs guitar and amp, BLASTS*

  16. Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph.

  35. Her date was pleasant enough, but she knew that if her life was a movie this guy would be buried in the credits as something like “Second Tall Man.”

  48. I felt a nameless dread. Well, there probably is a long German name for it, like Geschpooklichkeit or something, but I don’t speak German. Anyway, it’s a dread that nobody knows the name for, like those little square plastic gizmos that close your bread bags. I don’t know the name for those either.
  49. She was as unhappy as when someone puts your cake out in the rain, and all the sweet green icing flows down and then you lose the recipe, and on top of that you can’t sing worth a damn.

-I'm A Freak- 6:55 PM

Wahaha. I'm a freak, yeah.
Hehe, still fiddling with my MacBook Pro even though I'm supposed to be studying for History. LOL I almost typed Geog! What the heck.
Yeah I feel like I'm sufficiently prepared already, so what the heck. If I fail I don't blame myself, I blame Ms R. What's with the 'go home and read the textbook yourself because I don't like to teach content, I prefer doing activities'. Hm yes I do enjoy activities very much, however not these kind of activities, because even though we get some kind of message (Moral of the Story), they do not actually help us in remembering what we need to learn = =

Hey, I prefer a teacher who teaches in a way that we pass with flying colours by just listening in class. I don't like to do revision or study, thank you very much.
I despise homework. Home should be freedom, not bound by this troublesome midget known as homework. I call for a REBEL!

Next time when I get the resources I ought to form a "People's Freedom Party" and start rallying. I SWEAR.

Well here I am, not your typical 'model top school student', sitting in front of her computer and slacking. Well not really, it's called enlightening yourself by writing more, expressing your own views and enjoying quality music simultaneously.
As I type, Dream Theater is blasting. Yeah, Uncle stuff, you might say.
But sadly to say it beats your freaking K-pop and Justin Bieber any day. By miles.
They don't just pale in comparison to Dream Theater, they are nothing.
Assess the technical difficulty and complexity in the compositions and shut up.

Okay~ Just changed the CD since it's done. Phew, 70 minutes of awesome-ness.
Avenged Sevenfold playing now.
"It's your fucking nightmare!" (What a cheesy line, the lyrics could be better, really)

Haha, I'm sure my classmates are all trying to cram history. With the exception of Jyoti, I guess?
Hehe.
LOL I forgot to sign in to MSN. Cruel much. XD

Let's see, next on my wishlist - Boss ME-25 Multi Effects pedal.
Wooooooo.
No, I seriously need that thing if not I can't record on my guitar, this is a disaster in my opinion.
This is stupid, MacBook Pro with only one audio jack for both input and output? Gotta be kidding me eh.
For recording geeks like me, it's a fucker.
And here I thought MacBook Pro would be PROfessional.
T_T

Heck. I want to get a wireless headset or something. USB would be good too, I guess?
People suggested USB mic. I have a mic, not sure how good, which came free with the MacBook Pro though. No, not from Apple, thrown in by the seller. It needs to be plugged into the jack, and so in that case, audio cannot come out. I wish there was a separate channel or something. Sigh.
So now, it's impossible to record while playing a backing track, because you will either get stuck with horrible timing or horrible sound quality. Sad much?
Grrrr.
Oh well, the good thing is that this computer is really fast, and fun to play with.
Wheeeeee.

Hey, why are you so distant nowadays.
Remember our awesome New Year?
Remember the heartfelt quotes we gave each other, painstakingly found?
Remember the time we shared the cake?
Remember the fact that you always sent me messages?

Haha, I apologize for being such an angsty person.
No, if you call yourself angsty, you haven't seen real angst.
I apologize yet again for being so busy.
Maybe you "got the message" and left me alone.
No, I was not sending out any "message".
I was perfectly welcome.

On the positive side, it seems as if you have integrated into the school environment, and there - it's the end of my job as a PSL.
The end is always saddening, but then again, when we lose something, we will gain something new.
Would that new beginning mean the new batch of students? All new, fresh faces.
Back to the routine of making friends and "integrating the students into the school environment".
No, PSLs shouldn't be what the public think we are, we are not robots, we are not machines, it is not a job, like the prefects and discipline. This is different, it is connecting with people, making friends and new bonds, inspiring and even gathering a strong following, creating legacies.
We have emotions, we do not finish what our job outlines to us and just move on.
Moving on is not easy.
Sometimes people forget that PSLs are human too.
They think we just lead them in playing games, and cheering.
It is not just that, you know.

You said you wanted to be all sorts of leaders. I hope you remember, and understand clearly what is required of you in these leadership positions. It is not easy at all, and I am very sure the senior you look up to has also went through a lot to achieve this much.

Just a word of advice as your senior, please become a leader with the intention to inspire, encourage, and motivate. Do not aspire to become one just because you want to become popular. Sure, that is one of the many benefits of becoming a leader, but I do not want you to forget, the true purpose of your leadership position.

Follow your heart closely, but don't forget to follow the code too.

Enough said.

Stapled shut, inside an outside world and I'm
Sealed in tight, bizarre but right at home
Claustrophobic, closing in and I'm
Catastrophic, not again
I'm smeared across the page, and doused in gasoline
I wear you like a stain, yet I'm the one who's obscene
Catch me up on all your sordid little insurrections,
I've got no time to lose, and I'm just caught up in all the cattle

Psychotic.

-MacBook Pro- 8:44 PM

As the title suggests...
I NOW AM A PROUD OWNER OF A MACBOOK PRO XDD
Hahaha.
Yeah, typing with it now.
It's pretty hard to use, need to get used to it eh.
But the professional applications just make it so enjoyable.
No. 1 on my list - Garage Band. Must have!
Now doing covers, remixes or just recording of random stuff will be so simple and fun.
Wheeeeeee.

More updates on my life now.
Hm, I'm going to be taking Electric Guitar Grade 4 this November.
Yeah congratulate me first, just don't regret it later LOL!
The pieces are fine, with the exception of the solo I need to come up with.
The problematic part would probably the ear tests. I would have to recall melodic lines as well as chords.
The sight reading should be no problem minus the last bar, which is something you have to improvise and only chords are given.
Scales are a matter of memorizing.
So that's Grade 4 for you!

I will be taking part in Cedar's Got Talent this year.
Along with Jyoti~~
We'll be playing K-on songs for the most part.
We might throw in Gazette if the audience is awesome :3
So, please give us your full support!
(Oh and it would greatly be appreciated if someone told us WHERE exactly the submission bin/box/person actually is :D)

Okay here's even more advertising/publicity for my band.
WE ARE IN SERIOUS NEED OF A VOCALS.
PLEASE, SOMEBODY.
SING FOR US T____T
Drummer is also needed. However in the case of which one cannot be found, we will recruit another guitarist and I will play drums :)
This is because we are going to be performing VERY SOON, so we need to recruit more members as well as garner support from the public~ In terms of sponsoring or headbanging or being a roadie XP

That's it for today folks.
HAPPY ROCKING \m/
