The Dark Angel
Umm, hi.
I know I'm not your idea of a typical 14-year-old girl. My birthday's on 9th February, and I happen to like that date a lot. I share my birthday & birthday month with very awesome people.
I have a thing for heavy music, I love J-Rock and heavy metal. I adore the Visual Kei scene.
I'm an otaku. I spend my days rotting at the computer gawking at anime, manga, music and whatnot.
I'm weird. I tend to like dark and depressing things. It doesn't make me emo or suicidal. People do have their dark moments.
If you're easily offended by gay things, this might not be the right place for you. I love yaoi and you can't change that.
Interesting guitar riffs and shredding are my weakness. You might think guitar's my specialty, but it isn't. I do play acoustic and electric guitar, but piano's what I major in. I play the Guzheng a little too.
And that's about all I have to say about me.

mind twist

This girl is forever random. She might sometimes suffer from moodswings, but most of the time she's feeling... happy? I don't know.
She likes to be called goth and not emo.
She is all for gay.
She has somehow developed a glasses fetish from staring at the picture up there.
When she's feeling sad, she'll go ranting about things and sound like a philosopher.
She is a narcissist.
Red, black and purple are the colours to describe her mood.

-LOL stalkers!- 7:24 PM

Dear Huijie,
I know you're reading my blog.
You probably don't understand a word of my posts from 2010 onwards.
So, please entertain yourself with my 2009 posts. They are seriously very interesting and useful if you want to gain some knowledge *grin*
Don't bother reading my 2008 posts. They are probably about boring stuff, since I only just started the blog then.
Oh. Please remember to TAG whenever you read my blog.
Thank you.

Love,
Sze Hui

Happy birthday to Maya-san~~~!!
Today was fun yet not fun at all.
Rain, rain and more rain.
Woke up so early for naught.
My silly father got lost on the way to YCK Stadium, and that sucked.
We were late for 20+ min. But in the end, I wasn't really that late after all.
Probably shouldn't have went there in the first place.
I shall not elaborate on the details of what happened, but anyway, people started singing happy birthday!
And so Jyoti and I "assumed" it was for Maya!!
XD

-time skip-

Went for Japanese buffet today.
We checked out a new place, very near my house. It's in Bukit Timah. Greenwood Avenue, to be exact.
It's called Shin Yuu Japanese Restaurant. And if you don't know, it translates to close friend. Nice name for a restaurant. Haha.
I think the food there is quite outstanding for a Japanese buffet. The chawanmushi with cod roe was surprisingly good, even though I hate cod roe. The taste of egg with cod roe was unexpectedly delicious and unique tasting. The wafu beef was just soft and juicy... Oishii!
Sashimi was pretty fresh. Though it's only average in my opinion. The good thing about this restaurant is that there are very nice complimentary dishes, and if you go there for dinner, there'll be even more sumptuous complimentary dishes. I loved the salmon belly sushi which melted in my mouth.
The scallop was not bad too. Quite interesting, there's cod roe paste on top. Though I didn't really like the taste of the cod roe, I thought the scallop was yummy. Overall, the grilled and deep-fried items were good, but around average.
Oh yes, the service was very good. The manager helped recommend some dishes to us, and was constantly reminding the waitresses to clear our dishes, serve tea etc.
It's a very quiet restaurant for a buffet restaurant. But I enjoyed the meal.
ごちそう様でした!

I shall end off here. Byebye~

-the crying fields- 8:49 PM

Colors of the spring, you can go mad by their ease
If I could just forget
One can get depressed by watching the beauty of decay with both eyes
One can laugh thinking that it's just loneliness
The colors of the spring were raised for the third time
Keeping my breath slow I'm swimming in the dirt
It's not convenient to have the illusion that I'll drown with flutter kick
Better than my dominant hand surpressing reality
I'd rather hold onto my light wound
Bury your name

Rotted roots are swaying on the water's surface
Cog-wheels are turning like they are distorted
I'm carefully listening to the creaking sounds
Can I go completely mad?
All this is a shallow ocean of taboo words
It's dirty as much as you can mistake it as clear

Good-bye
I'll fall into a lawless darkness
Good-bye
It ends with this

Tears... Rain of lamentation
Every time I'm facing nothingness they're flowing over
The spelled words are blurring
Tears... When they dry I will be killed by silence
At the end of walking in shadows I'll lose my mind

Rotted roots are swaying on the water's surface
Cog-wheels are turning like they are distorted
I noticed throwing my body towards the creaking sounds
I noticed something similar to that

Tears... Rain of lamentation
Every time I'm facing nothingness they're flowing over
The spelled words are blurring
Tears... They are scattering with loneliness when you live in silence
Engraved in the fact that I'd never be able to smile again

There is me who loved you
There is me who stared at you
There is me who wanted you
There is me who lost you

There is you who loved me
There is you who stares at me
There is you who destroyed me
There is you who snatched me away
There is you who killed me

-Remembering... The drummers;- 11:26 PM

Remembering... Those two fantastic drummers;
Kami and The Rev.
Kami, from Malice Mizer. Passed away at 26.
The Rev, from Avenged Sevenfold. Passed away at 28.
Both born in February.

I felt sad all of a sudden, when I saw a video of Malice Mizer in an interview. Kami died in 1999.
That's way back, more than 10 years.
It's like reminiscence, but it's not happy at all.
This solemn feeling.
It doesn't feel nice.

Then why do I suddenly remember the fact that my mother told me, there was a child in between my sister and I. Exactly one cycle older than me. It was aborted, because of I reason I shall not state.
So I was treated like a replacement for that little life?
It makes me feel uncomfortable thinking about it.
That I could have just been 25 now.
Living a completely different life, maybe.
Not meeting the people I've met.

Please convey this love to that vanished person
If it were a lasting lie, how long before my redemption?
This love eventually ceased, that it
would be swallowed by a wave.
Must reach, must reach...
We exist in this "now," then die.

-sink- 1:37 PM

I’m searching for words in you who’s falling asleep,
With glass wings, with a warped voice,
Even though I’m unreliable, I’ll continue living on,
I swear this to you now, including a prayer,
to tomorrow that won’t come for you.

How much anxiety did the time when we didn’t meet cause me?
My fingertips brushed away tears,

Erasing even my emotions and leaving a distance,
Nonchalantly resisting, yet all the while feeling empty,
I felt its significance to the extent that I had unpleasant thoughts,
Since when did that hand become so frail?

Letters that wait for spring,
In a bed you cannot be parted from,
My memories increased by one…

Don't bother trying to figure out what I mean. It's already inside of you.
Search, and you shall find.

-HELL YEAH IT'S OVER!- 8:20 PM

MUMMY!! IT'S OVER~!!!

Yes, destroyed the two big obstacles of the term - Higher Chinese CT and English Oral.
I shall only say one thing for each 'cuz I don't really wanna talk about these two burdens.
1. Chinese CT - manageable, easiest of all the tests so far.
2. English Oral - was able to talk a lot but for the picture, mostly crap. Conversation, probably went a bit off-topic but still managed to come back.

Okay, I shall now list down the Visual Kei bands I like, according to the number of songs I am listening from them. It has slipped my mind, since I've been mentioning so many but it has never been confirmed which ones I really love or I'm just interested in. It may seem like a small number, like 5-10, but it's the songs which I listen to quite often. I probably wouldn't count the ones I've listened to only once.

LOVE (more than 15 songs):
1. the Gazette (to be honest I heard at least 50 songs of theirs)
2. Versailles
3. Dir En Grey

REALLY LIKE (more than 10 songs):
1. LM.C (quite surprising but I've actually heard lots of their songs)
2. ClearVeil
3. Maximum the Hormone (something I used to like last year)
4. An Cafe
5. Abingdon Boys School
6. Phantasmagoria

LIKE (more than 5 songs):
1. Plastic Tree
2. D
3. Onmyouza

and many others... which belong in the 'only interested' category. I'd probably have heard more than 5 of their songs, but don't listen to them very often, or don't listen at all after that.

I just realized I haven't posted any pictures of LIN... So I shall post them now.

Looks pretty similar to Mago right? 'Cuz of the front-man Riku as well as KISAKI.
I can also see influences of Malice Mizer and Dir En Grey in their costume + makeup.
Cool.

-Garage sale~!- 3:35 PM

Racial harmony day today, had garage sale.
Many people came to school in their ethnic costumes, but NONE of us in 1C wore our costumes. Haha.
A lot of sexy cheongsams and qipaos 8D
Check out their legs. XD

But really, today's garage sale was damn fun. Funnest part was the music. We went to 1O, and boy, they rock! Lots of stuff, around 100+ (Compared to our very suckish 30+ items) And music was blasting. Awesome.
So we ended up blasting music too. Boy, that was the most hilarious thing which happened today. 'Cuz we couldn't decide on what to play. Obviously, the K-pop won and so we got annoying songs blasted the whole time. Gee, Oh!, Ring Ding Dong... and whatnot.
Suddenly Grayce started playing Hawaiian music. Yes, you heard right. Well, it rocks. So Jyoti and I were like "Yes, yes, yes, very good song! Continue~~~~!!!"
We prefer the Hawaiian song over K-pop any day. By the way, if anyone wanna listen to it and have a good laugh, it's called "Hawaiian sunrise with Hawaiian music". Yeah, if my memory's correct. XD
So we were opening different tabs, all on Youtube. So the Hawaiian music was permanently in one tab, the rest are all dunno what songs. Black Eyed Peas, SNSD, SHINee, and what shit lah. Oh, also got F.T. but I'm not that disgusted with it. Since its a bandddddd. I like bands. X3 *biased*
Oh but I dislike the vocalist, he looks freaking gay, no offence.
Basically the music was like that:
-K-pop-
Halfway through, Hawaiian music.
-K-pop-
SUDDENLY NURSERY RHYMES STARTED PLAYING and everyone screamed, not sang, to the music. Baa baa black sheep, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Barney, Old Mc Donald's, and whatever else.
And miraculously, it actually attracted customers. LOL!
Oh and then they started playing K-pop again. Damn they need to shut up with the K-pop.
Finally Jyoti and I got a chance to request for a song. We thought about it, and decided on a J-Rock song which practically everyone knows. INNOCENT SORROW! Since everyone watches DGM.
It was awesome, hearing it blasted, and it also attracted customers! People walked past and stopped there, looking in. :D It worked better than the K-pop, okay! Nobody cares about K-pop, because every fucking class is playing K-pop. = =
But then we went back to K-pop. And then 1H came over and told us to stop copying/stealing their songs. Like, what the fuck. We didn't even steal their song, for goodness' sake.
Then we played "Fuck You" by Lily Allen. It's dedicated to our beloved 1H.
So we blasted it, max volume.
After a few secs, monitress Ama came in. She was like, "If you wanna play this song, please play it softly." So when we reached the chorus we turned the volume down. Then the chorus ended and we blasted again. Then the very clever Grayce rewinded until the chorus again. So we heard "Fuck you very very much!" on max volume. Damn, we pwn.
And Ama was screaming! Like... "AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Everyone was screaming.
For no reason, but we were all getting hyper.
There was lots of laughter, seriously.
Oh and there was other Hawaiian music too. For example, I remembered what "Little Beach Boys" thingy.
Damn funny.
XDXDD

Okay I shall not spam more about this.
I almost forgot to mention, early this morning Mr K. walked past our class. And all of us went, "Oh. My. God." and we all ROFL-ed. Guess what, he wore an uncle shirt, and sarong. And to top it off, he wore the toilet cleaner's slippers. You know, the very cheapskate one, which doesn't cover much and has the blue straps only? = =
Unbelievable guy.
Jessalyn said, "Wah, when he walk into class later ah, we'll show him what ROFL really means."
And we all were laughing all the way.

Please wish me good luck kays, my Chinese CT is tomorrow, as well as my English Oral exam. Damn it.

But I shall still post the Visual Kei pictures :3

Yeah, I know, Jui is damn hot right? Haha no larh. JK. He's hot but not my favourite yet.
Just wanna wish him all the best ^^
He has to go for a throat surgery.
Sigh...
His poor vocal chords! D:

I can't bear to see another good Under Code band disband. Hope he recovers soon!
Vidoll and ClearVeil are the best Under Code bands...
T_T

Heard that LIN is coming to Singapore. And the price unconfirmed, but it's fucking cheap. $35!!!
I'm definitely going to watch if the price is not above $50. Since it's not my favourite band. In fact I don't really know heck about them. I've only heard a few of their songs, but anyway I just found out the connection between them and a band I already know - Phantasmagoria. Wow, so actually two members of Mago are in LIN. That's cool!

Apparently SHINee has a new single. Lucifer.
I find it quite ironic, 'cuz there's already a Japanese band called Lucifer, and yeah.
But I went to hear it and I think it's quite nice, compared to Ring Ding Dong.
Correction: It's way better.
And for those who are not liking SHINee anymore because of their looks (directed to a certain person) then you suck. It's like Dir En Grey, who used to be very Vkei but now aren't that flashy. Man, you fail at life if you dislike a band just because of their looks. Why don't you just sit down and listen to their music? Seriously, I don't understand you people. Bands are for playing music, their image is just to enhance the experience. So if you end up turning to other bands and don't listen to a band anymore just because of their image, you can't call yourself a fan.

-PUBLICIZING... And more matters now.- 4:55 PM

I wonder if you've noticed or not, but I've decided to remove the privacy of my blog. Since I thought it was too troublesome and I didn't really like the traffic.
The daily Visual Kei pictures:
Lady Asagi
Now, since my blog's public, before any visual-kei idiot comes giving a stupid comment like 'who's that lady?', I shall make this clear: HE'S A GUY. He's Asagi from D. He's sexy, don't argue. And D-licious. Mmm~

I really love his red contacts *w*

Thank you so much Ginna for giving me the SHOXX magazine. It's the perfect volume. You rock! The Gazette boys looked so pretty in there X3
Watching a horror movie with a friend was fun after all. My first time, in fact. Ended up having to put our fingers in our ears cuz' the friggin' music and screams were damn loud. Spoiling my eardrums D: And it was quite fun to look down every time a scary scene was coming. Boy, was it freaky. But it was a great movie after all :) It's sad too :"(

Oh, and Jyoti, if you're reading this, then please get well soon. PLEASE EAT! AND I MEAN IT.
YOU CAN'T NOT EAT. You already know how scary it is to fall sick, since I shared my father's experience. And really, if you really get sick, it'll be very serious. My father was sick for months, and missing school for so long he couldn't catch up. So you better eat. Then recover. =)

Oh yes, I didn't update on my piano exam.
Well, I SUCKED. My scales screwed up. All the staccato scales and arpeggios, I made mistakes. My contrary motion chromatic scales was so fucked up the examiner asked my if I wanted another try. Fuck! My three pieces still went quite well, but I'm not exactly very pleased with my last song, the jazz one. The hard part, I made mistakes. My sight-reading was almost perfect, phew! Aural was just fail. Singing from memory, forgot the melody in the middle but luckily ended correctly. But still wrong leh. Sight singing confirm correct. No problems for that. Then cadences, modulations all confirm wrong one. Asking questions part, not very good. Cannot figure out the period.
So overall, it sucked.
HOW TO PASS?

Okay, I give up lah. Fail then fail, grade 7 only. Time to move on. I saw the grade 8 stuff and practically died. Scales are just a nightmare. EVERY POSSIBLE SCALE will be tested. Harmonic minor, melodic minor, major, legato, staccato, diminished seventh, dominant seventh, sixths, thirds, arpeggios in first, second inversion...!
Exam pieces are no better, they're in no way like grade 7. They're closer to diploma standard! Shit!
I can't choose, they're all so difficult! *faints*
I think I shall end off here, getting sick of blogging.
BYE~~ XD
GETS! (sorry this was random thanks to Kouta Hirano)

-AWESOMENESS :))- 11:02 AM

Guess what, Ginna actually went to find the Radio Jack clips of Gazette on her own. She said she tried to listen to their songs but got scolded by her mother. Haha. Too loud, I know. I'm forced to turn down the volume when my parents are at home. If not, BLAST!
So now she knows that Reita admitted that he's perverted on his own. And also the other stuff about the other members. :D
And she went to watch Guren. Here comes the most classic question. What's the white stuff coming out from the tap? Well, since I already answered her question and explained the whole PV to her, I don't think there's anymore reasons to explain it here. :P

Then I decided to do a music survey on my father, to find out exactly what he thinks of different genres of music.
So firstly, I asked him: What's your take on classical music?
Dad: It's calming, and traditional.
Me: What's your take on pop music?
Dad: Oh, it's annoying! Don't like them.
Me: Agreed. Especially don't like Electropop.
Dad: Yes, electronic sounds are annoying.
Me: Then... Hmm... Oh! What's your take on heavy metal?
Dad: They're life threatening!
Me: What?! *LOL* Care to explain what you mean by that?
Dad: They're all about bad things. And whatever they do is life threatening.
Me: Okay, okay. But I think it all boils down to Americans huh. They sing all the bad stuff, and is basically all about their own country.
Dad: Yeah. That's why I hate Americans.
Me: But actually, if you block out the lyrics and vocals, then you will be surprised by their music. Their technique is really very good, their fingers can move so fast!
Dad: Well, youngsters are energetic. And life threatening!
Me: What's with you and life threatening today?! Okay never mind. What's your take on rock music then?
Dad: Rock and roll huh.
Me: Nonono, not really talking about the American Rock and Roll. I mean, they're seriously a no-no for me. Like you know, Adam Lambert from American Idol, said it was his dream to perform with the Rock and Roll band KISS, and well he actually did. And I practically puked at their makeup. It was just horrible and they look like ghosts.
Dad: Yeah they do.
Me: I mean, the Japanese Visual Kei bands look much more natural than them, right?
Dad: *reluctantly* Hmm.
-after a few seconds-
Me: Ugh, it's a truck.
Dad: You better keep away from these big trucks, since they have big tires, little stones can be stuck in them. And then when the wheel spins, the stones might just catapult out and smash your windows or windscreen. So when you see these big trucks, either stay far away from them or overtake them.
Me: Ouch, I will.
Dad: Yes you better do. They're life threatening.
Me: *pwned* Hahahaha!
-hears the radio report about these three guys converting to Islamic and becoming a threat, so kenna arrested-
Me: See lah, Islamic is all about terrorism. They're life threatening.
Dad: Haha.

Anyway, I decided to go listen to ZE:A. I found out what the Monday Tuesday Wednesday thing is all about. Haha. But I don't really like Mazeltov. It's weird when they keep repeating Friday Saturday Sunday.
But I really like the song Haru Jongil. It's very nice, and I think I probably accepted it because there was no electronic sounds, and because of the piano part. Reminds me of Haru Haru by Bigbang. Haha. I want the piano sheets for this song...

GYAAA! I have piano exam and choir audition on Monday! My piano has stuff that I haven't cleared up, and the song for choir audition is too difficult to be true! All the accents and stuff, practically impossible to get the rhythm and pitching! I just realized how suckish I was. And I have no idea how am I gonna have enough breath to sing the song, especially after the crescendo parts we have to sing super loud. But not as if the other people singing other parts can sing their parts perfectly either. So wish me good luck for Monday :))

I think I should end off here. And wait, the Visual Kei pics... Today shall feature the members of Poitrine!

Sayo! (Vocals)

Ginga (Guitar)

Denu (Bass)

Urara (Guitar)

Yusuke (Drums)

-Tied together by a scarlet string;- 8:22 AM

A typhoon is coming to the glass sky,
It’s probably a strong one.
Look only at that, the reasons those two were laughing

The light is already being covered, becoming hidden
Spilling over closed eyes, what is this?

Goodbye~ to you I adored
Desires tied together by scarlet strings
Ah, It’s coming loose now The magic is falling apart
And I, how can I walk alone?

The glass sky cracked
The world has begun to end
Everything but me is blown away as if nothing

There are so many things left to say
If I am reborn, I want to become you

Farewell~ we can’t meet again, can we?
Desires tied together by scarlet strings
Ah, our little fingers were sliced from a promise
Accepting the deceit of a gentle lie

Ah, I was talking in delirium~ I called your name, repeating it like a spell
Ah, I can’t forget Your voice, all your faces, all spinning within my heart

Goodbye to you I adored
Desires tied together by scarlet strings
I found I was able to walk alone, by magic

Farewell~ we can never meet again, right?
Desires tied together by scarlet strings
Ah, our little fingers were sliced from a promise
Accepting the deceit of a gentle lie

Goodbye~
Farewell~

-Shiver- 10:30 PM

Finally heard Gazette's new single Shiver since the internet came back (long story UGH much).
I've gotta say, I'm quite disappointed.
The song wasn't as awesome as I expected, the music pretty predictable until the solo came back... But otherwise, boring. It got repetitive, however I can sort of understand when a song comes out like that. After all, whenever I try to compose a song, this happens. = =
If I had listened to only the preview then I'd say it's good. But overall, the melody got repeated so many times it probably bored people out. And I think those people spamming the comment wall with "awesome" and "cool" in caps are just overrating Shiver. Seriously. I agree with the person who said that everything after Guren wasn't all that great. However, not everything wasn't great. I feel that the DIM album had some pretty nice songs in it. For example, THE INVISIBLE WALL is a good song, to be honest. I particularly like the part where Ruki sings the high note. My bias is limited to that part only, though. :/
Not to sound biased, but... an anime song? The quality isn't there, in my opinion.
The PV wasn't very interesting. Not very impressed by the grey-scale + smoky scene.
Their new looks... not too much to comment, but Aoi's hair became shorter? Ruki looks cute :D Reita maintains his smexy-ness, Uruha has pretty screwed up hair, Kai... needs to be cuter. His hair isn't very nice either. And as some people have pointed out, there are no shots of the whole band together!! Oh no! They should harmonize :D
With this, I am not very motivated to watch Kuroshitsuji 2. It's not that I hate it whatsoever, I'm just not enthusiastic about the fact that there's gonna be totally different characters. The artwork is really nice, I have to admit. But the storyline isn't very gripping to me.
Oh, and one last thing I noticed of Shiver.
WHY ISN'T THE RECORD COMPANY PSC?? BUT VVV Records?
I don't seem to have heard of that label, but oh well. Maybe it was because of the anime? I really don't know. But I really hope they don't transfer out of PSC D:
